Job Description

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence division is seeking an Applications Engineer I.

Location – Williamsburg. VA ( USA) - Onsite

Summary

Provides technical training and support for specific applications encompassing portable metrology in the manufacturing industry for key customers.

Job Responsibilities

· Performs software and hardware training for key customers in Williamsburg. VA ( USA) - Onsite

· Frequently travels to conduct training for major manufacturing companies across the US

· Provides technical support to customers virtually and in-person

· Creates and edits training material and technical documentation

· Assists regional sales team in providing support for local customers

· Maintains positive customer relationships through effective interaction

· Continually develops in-depth knowledge and understanding of Hexagon’s broad and expanding product portfolio

· Generates additional business through positive interactions with customers during onsite visits

· Keeps up with advancements in application engineering and modern technologies

Qualifications

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Comfortable speaking before small groups

· Proficient with MS Office

· Eager to learn new skills for modern advanced technologies

· Experience with 3D engineering software

· Able to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment

· Strong Customer Service Skills

· Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience

· 6 months to 2 years experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or similar environment

Physical Demands

· Frequently in a stationary position for long periods of time; occasional bending/kneeling

· Manual dexterity required for keyboard use, operating equipment, grasping objects

· Regularly move around the office and factory floor to manipulate metrology equipment

· Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

· Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and adjust focus

· Frequently communicates with other employees and customers

Work Environment

· Primarily a customer onsite setting, with frequent visits to the factory floor

· Work-from-home allowed in a low-noise environment for meetings and calls on no-travel weeks

· Paid travel to various locations on East Coast , and occasionally Midwest, West Coast, or Canada

· Office space also provided and is clean, orderly, properly lighted, and ventilated

· Factory noise levels are considered moderate

· When required, PPE will be provided

· Will require travel up to 70%
