Job Description

We are seeking a Payroll Specialist with a passion for technology, an aptitude for learning new systems, and a proactive attitude to join our team. This role is a critical function within our organization as we oversee payroll for 650 employees across various hourly, salary, and weekly pay structures. The ideal candidate will leverage their technical skills and process improvement mindset to manage payroll tasks while modernizing and automating reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities :

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for 650 employees, including hourly, salaried, and weekly payroll.
• Pull, review, and verify hours from field employees to ensure accuracy in payroll submissions.
• Administer company benefits such as 401(k) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA), ensuring proper deductions and contributions.
• Work closely with Human Resources to learn and manage HRIS systems, ensuring proper integration with payroll processes.
• Generate, analyze, and deliver payroll reports to management while improving report creation and delivery efficiencies.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities in payroll and reporting processes to drive efficiency and reduce manual work.
• Monitor compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to payroll and benefits.
• Collaborate with field managers and employees to resolve payroll-related inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications :

• Proven technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn new systems, software, and processes.
• 2+ years of payroll processing experience preferred, including familiarity with multi-format workforces (hourly and salaried employees).
• Experience with 401(k), HSA, and other benefits administration.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes and best practices, including attention to detail and time management.
• Basic understanding of database or HRIS systems is a plus, but willingness to learn is essential.
• Advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables) and familiarity with reporting tools to automate and streamline workflows.
• Effective communicator who can work with different levels of employees, vendors, and management.
• Bilingual in Spanish
