Description:

We are seeking a skilled Structural/Civil Designer to join our team. This role involves supporting a variety of projects through planning, site evaluations, analytical design, proposal preparation, environmental planning, and construction documentation. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams on a diverse portfolio of project types and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design civil engineering projects, including:
  • Site development and layout
  • Roadway and land development
  • Stormwater management and drainage systems
  • Water and sanitary sewer utilities
  • Sediment and erosion control
  • Traffic control
  • Airport and facility design
  • Develop design drawings and calculations for complex assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Apply standard design techniques and methods to tasks such as system sizing, layout sequencing, and drafting refinement.
  • Revise drawings, markups, and sketches on active projects.
  • Analyze topographical, geological, and test data for project planning and design.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable design codes and project specifications.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of design drawings.
  • Perform volume calculations for grading, excavation, and dredging.
  • Incorporate schedule, budget, and project criteria into civil design work.
  • Maintain organized and logical storage of project drawings, plots, and documentation.
  • Comply with company policies and standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Drafting Technology or a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience, OR
  • Associate degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, OR
  • 9+ years of progressive detailing and design experience.
  • Expertise in design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Excel.
  • Advanced understanding of civil engineering design principles, calculations, and practices.
  • Familiarity with other engineering disciplines and ability to coordinate across teams.
  • Strong collaboration skills, especially in multidisciplinary environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and problem-solving capabilities.
