A leading manufacturer of engineered dehumidification and indoor climate control solutions is seeking an accomplished Director of Operations to lead a dynamic manufacturing and operations team through its next phase of strategic growth.

In this high-impact leadership role, you will oversee all production-related functions, including Production, Production Control & Purchasing, Scheduling, Testing, Shipping/Receiving, and Warehousing. Reporting directly to the President, you will shape operational strategy, improve efficiencies, and develop high-performing teams. Direct reports include the Plant Manager, Production Control Manager, and Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

What You’ll Do:

  • Champion a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance culture aligned with organizational values.
  • Lead employee engagement and cultural transformation initiatives across operations.
  • Drive lean manufacturing practices (Kaizen, 5S, VSM) to increase throughput, reduce waste, and improve schedule attainment.
  • Direct and improve production scheduling, material planning, capacity balancing, and on-time delivery.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships with Engineering, Finance, and Sales to support business objectives and new product launches.
  • Oversee procurement, inventory control, and vendor management strategies with a focus on quality, cost, and lead time.
  • Coach and develop a strong leadership bench, ensuring succession planning and skill advancement across the operations team.
  • Contribute to facility growth initiatives, capital planning, and adoption of new technologies.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering highly preferred ; other Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business degrees considered (MBA a plus).
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations, production, or supply chain—preferably in a high-mix or engineered-to-order environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading cultural and operational change with measurable outcomes.
  • Expertise in lean manufacturing, ERP systems (Epicor preferred), and production scheduling best practices.
  • A collaborative, transparent leadership style with a strategic mindset and strong execution skills.
