Job Description

LHH is seeking an Environment, Health, and Safety Manager (EHS Manager) for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client located near Sellersburg, IN. This is a unique opportunity to join a large EHS team and to oversee the Environment, Health, and Safety program for the manufacturing operation. Compensation ranges from $120,000-130,000 plus bonus and includes very affordable insurance program options, 401K match, and generous PTO and holiday offerings.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead a team of EHS staff and ensure compliance in all areas of EHS.
• Oversee hazardous waste management, regulatory reporting, auditing, and spill response readiness.
• Inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards.
• Responsible for managing hazardous material and oil spill responses.
• Complete environmental reporting and ensure compliance with all required regulations and ISO programs.
• Complete customer environmental compliance requests as needed.
• Oversee root cause analysis for environmental compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
• Develop, implement, communicate, and maintain loss prevention programs to reduce and control workplace injuries and hazards.
• Conduct accident investigations and complete root-cause analysis and/or gap analysis to identify the source of a safety issue and take necessary action to resolve the problem.
• Analyze safety data looking for trends and areas for improvement.
• Protect employees, customers, and the environment by identifying and correcting potentially hazardous situations or business practices.
• Draft and maintain EHS policies, ensuring compliance for all EHS standards.
• Work closely with those at all levels of the organization regarding safety matters.
• Perform gap analysis and develop action plans.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in EHS, Occupational Health, or Public Health is required
• A minimum of 10 years of EHS experience within a manufacturing, warehousing, or distribution environment is required (candidates from the construction industry will NOT be considered)
• Preference toward candidates with safety certifications (i.e. Certified Safety Professional, OSHA, HAZMAT, etc.)
• Must be comfortable working with both blue and white collared colleagues
• Must be willing to learn, self-motivated, and a positive leader
