Health & Safety Manager

Location: Greencastle, PA (On-site)

Industry: Light Industrial / Manufacturing

Compensation: Competitive Base Salary + Annual Bonus + Full Benefits

Position Overview:

Our Client is seeking an experienced and hands-on Health & Safety Manager to lead all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) efforts at our manufacturing facility in Greencastle, PA . This role will be instrumental in driving a culture of safety and continuous improvement by building out standardized processes, ensuring full regulatory compliance, and actively collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance safety performance across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Program Leadership
  • Own and execute the site’s health and safety strategy in alignment with OSHA and corporate safety standards.
  • Conduct routine safety audits, risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and incident investigations.
  • SOP Development & Process Improvement
  • Build, document, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance across all departments.
  • Identify gaps in current processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives to elevate overall workplace safety and efficiency.
  • Lead kaizen-style reviews of high-risk activities and implement corrective measures that reduce risk exposure.
  • Training & Culture Building
  • Deliver onboarding and recurring safety training for all employees, including LOTO, HazCom, PPE, and emergency response procedures.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through employee engagement, safety committees, and open-door feedback loops.
  • Incident Management & Reporting
  • Lead investigations for all workplace incidents, near-misses, and safety violations with root cause analysis and corrective action tracking.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of OSHA 300 logs, workers’ compensation claims, and internal safety metrics.
  • Compliance & Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Serve as the primary contact for all regulatory inspections and correspondence with OSHA and local authorities.
  • Collaborate closely with operations, HR, and maintenance to align safety priorities with daily execution and company goals.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or distribution environment.
  • Proven ability to develop SOPs and improve operational processes for safer, more efficient workflows.
  • Deep understanding of OSHA, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and training skills; ability to influence all levels of the organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification required; additional credentials (e.g., CSP, CHMM) are highly desirable.
  • Bilingual in English & Spanish is a plus but not required.
