Job Description

We are currently recruiting enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about technology, enjoy working with children and love learning. The ideal candidate for our program has a positive mental attitude, strong confidence in their ability, excitement at the prospect of learning new things and a strong desire to impact kids’ lives in a fun and enriching way! Coaches have an extremely valuable role in the Code Wiz family. Our coaches are here to guide and inspire our students so knowledge of coding plus a positive mental attitude are essential!

All training will be provided. High School and College students with a passion for coding are encouraged to apply!

Pay rate: $16-18/hr

Schedule:

  • 6 hours shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Morning -Afternoon shifts

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach and mentor students in grades 6–8 in robotics, programming, and engineering concepts.
  • Teach basic to intermediate  robot design, construction, and programming using platforms such as  LEGO® SPIKE Prime etc.
  • Lead students through challenges that encourage  problem-solving, teamwork, and creativity .
  • Foster a fun, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Prepare students for  competitions, showcases, or project presentations when applicable.
  • Track student progress and adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Set up and maintain robotics equipment and classroom materials.
  • Communicate regularly with program leadership about student engagement and progress.
  • Help create new curriculum that is tailored to students individual needs

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with  middle school students (ages 11–14)in an educational or coaching setting.
  • Familiarity with robotics kits such as LEGO® SPIKE Prime, VEX IQ, or similar.
  • Basic knowledge of  block-based or text-based programming (e.g., Scratch, Python, or C-based robotics programming).
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Passionate about technology, engineering, and inspiring young minds.
  • Ability to lead both structured lessons and open-ended project time.
  • Preferred: Experience coaching a robotics team (e.g.,  FIRST LEGO League, VEX IQ Challenge, FTC or similar competitions ).
