Instructional Coach (ELA 5–8 & Math K–4)

ORGANIZATION: Charter School

LOCATION: Brooklyn, NY 11206

SCHEDULE: Fully On-Site – 5 Days a Week

HOURS: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM

We are seeking two Instructional Coaches to join our team:

• The ELA Instructional Coach will provide comprehensive support to English Language Arts teachers in grades 5–8 to enhance literacy instruction, curriculum implementation, and student achievement.
• The Math Instructional Coach will support Math teachers in grades K–4 , focusing on strengthening instruction, aligning curriculum to standards, and improving student outcomes in early math education.

Both positions work collaboratively with teachers to develop their instructional practices through coaching, modeling, co-planning, professional development, and data analysis. The coach serves as a vital bridge between curriculum, instruction, and assessment to ensure rigorous and engaging instruction for all students.

Director of Student Supports / Director of Curriculum and Instruction

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Coaching

• Provide one-on-one and small group coaching to:
• ELA teachers in grades 5–8
• Math teachers in grades K–4
• Conduct regular classroom observations and provide specific, actionable feedback
• Model effective instruction through demonstration lessons and co-teaching
• Support teachers in differentiating instruction to meet diverse student needs
• Guide teachers in implementing research-based instructional strategies
• Assist in creating engaging, content-rich classroom environments

Curriculum Development and Support

• Collaborate with teachers to plan and implement curriculum with fidelity in both ELA (5–8) and Math (K–4)
• Support teachers in unpacking standards and aligning lesson objectives
• Assist in developing and refining unit plans and lesson sequences
• Create and curate supplemental instructional resources
• Support vertical alignment of curriculum across grade bands
