Job Description: Logistics Coordinator (Control Tower Group)

Location: Santa Ana, CA 92707

Contract Period: 1 Year onsite

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (subject to change)

Compensation: $33/hr. (3–4 years of related experience) | $35/hr.+ (4+ years of related experience or fair market rate)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Logistics Coordinator to join our Control Tower Group in Santa Ana. This role plays a key part in coordinating multimodal transportation, optimizing logistics processes, and ensuring seamless movement of goods from ocean vessels through to final delivery destinations. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including carriers, port terminals, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify potential risks in contracts and operations, and develop proactive solutions to mitigate them.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, rail companies, trucking/drayage providers, and port terminals to secure competitive transportation resources and rates.
  • Monitor delivery progress from ocean shipping to final destinations and address any issues promptly.
  • Develop and utilize tools for shipment monitoring and provide reports to senior management, customers, and HQ.
  • Analyze logistics data to identify operational bottlenecks and coordinate with teams to resolve them.
  • Prepare and present monthly KPI reports, particularly for drayage deliveries.
  • Create and distribute delivery status reports to customers.
  • Establish innovation and cost-reduction initiatives across regional logistics operations.
  • Define inspection standards and operational guidelines for warehousing and inland transportation.
  • Facilitate regular communication and meetings with carriers, SSL, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Complete ad-hoc reporting and additional logistics-related tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred; GED accepted.
  • 3–4+ years of experience in logistics coordination, multimodal transport, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of route optimization, transport planning, and cost-efficient logistics strategies.
  • Experience in warehouse operations and/or local transportation management.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and MS Office (Excel—pivot tables & VLOOKUP, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Excellent prioritization skills, able to shift focus quickly while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Collaborative team player with a professional attitude and strong problem-solving capabilities.
