Machine Operator

Location:North Chicago, IL

Starting Pay: $17.50/hour

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, change over, and adjust machinery based on production needs.
• Ensure equipment is ready and functioning for timely start-up.
• Perform process control, quality checks, and operate date coders.
• Complete daily production reports and documentation accurately.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and assist with basic repairs.
• Clean equipment and work areas following sanitation and safety guidelines.
• Train new team members and assist with product sampling for quality assurance.
• Follow all safety, GMP, and facility rules, including use of PPE.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to perform basic math and use computer programs.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to adapt to change and work as part of a team.
• Proficient with production systems (such as SCADA) preferred.

Essential Functions

• Stand, walk, climb, reach, bend, and move throughout the shift.
• Lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
• Work in environments ranging from -30°F to 176°F, with exposure to noise and bakery ingredients.
• Operate machinery and handle materials safely.

Work Environment

• Indoor production facility with varying temperatures and high noise.
• PPE required for certain tasks.
• Work around food ingredients and processing equipment.

Schedule

• Full-time, onsite, temp-to-hire.
• Monday to Thursday, 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM.
• Overtime or additional shifts may be required.
