Position Overview

Our team is currently looking for a Mechanical Test Lab Technician for one of our clients in the Manufacturing industry.

Our client is a leading designer and manufacturer of smart electric actuators. The Technician will function as a member of the Product Engineering department and will support testing of motors for current products already in production. The technician will assist engineering by supporting our current products testing by executing test plans, test stand support, and keeping stakeholders informed of testing progress. Testing mostly consists of torque testing of the current products for new features and assisting with calibration of motors.

Shift: 1st Shift, Monday – Friday, 8am to 5pm

Responsibilities & Essential Duties

• Manage multiple initiatives and projects simultaneously
• Set up and calibrate sensors and instrumentation to gather useful test data
• Analysis and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Thoroughly document projects, test procedures, test results, etc.
• Assist with development of test plans
• Ensure that projects are executed to achieve cost and time goals.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, & Skills)

• In pursuit of an A.S. degree in Engineering Technology (electronics or mechanical) or Physics
• Experience with load, torque, and temperature sensors, signal conditioning and instrumentation.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience writing procedures and test reports.
• Safety shoes and protective eyewear/glasses required.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Familiarity with LabVIEW Equipment and software
• Familiarity with design and operation of AC and DC electric motors
• Hands-on experience with single-phase and three-phase electric systems
• Familiarity with gearing, bearings, and power transmission.
