Medical Science Liaison (MSL), Hematology/Oncology – Mid-Atlantic (Remote)

✈️ ~60% travel required

About the Role

We are seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join the Medical Affairs team in hematology/oncology. This field-based role focuses on building trusted scientific relationships with healthcare providers, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and academic centers of excellence. The MSL will deliver scientific exchange, support clinical development, and help shape strategy through insights from the field.

Key Responsibilities

KOL Development & Engagement

  • Identify, develop, and maintain peer-to-peer relationships with KOLs and HCPs in hematology/oncology.
  • Execute territory plans aligned with Medical Affairs strategy.
  • Share clinical insights and unmet needs from the field with internal stakeholders.
  • Provide medical education via presentations, investigator meetings, advisory boards, and national conferences.

Scientific Expertise & Communication

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hematology/oncology therapies, pipeline data, and competitive landscape.
  • Deliver unbiased, evidence-based scientific exchange on products, data, and therapeutic trends.
  • Provide clinical presentations in academic, community, and HCP settings.
  • Represent the organization at major scientific congresses.

Medical Affairs Execution

  • Support development and implementation of the U.S. Medical Plan.
  • Contribute to advisory boards, speaker development, clinical trial support, and medical congress staffing.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally using a Key Account Management approach.
  • Document and report adverse events and product complaints in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Compliance & Values

  • Ensure scientific integrity in all exchanges with external stakeholders.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Advanced degree (PharmD, MD, PhD or equivalent) with 3+ years’ experience in hematologic malignancies , OR
  • Licensed RN, NP, CNP, or PA with Master’s degree and 5+ years’ experience in hematologic malignancies .
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as an MSL or in a comparable medical/clinical role.
  • Demonstrated track record in hematology/oncology preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong ability to critically analyze and communicate complex medical/scientific data.
  • Excellent presentation, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
  • Strategic, self-motivated, and able to work autonomously in a fast-changing environment.
  • Proficiency with digital platforms and virtual engagement tools.
  • Ability to travel approximately 60% of the time; must live near a major airport.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $154,400 – $231,600 (based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity).
  • Discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive plan eligibility.
