Job Description

We're excited to invite a talented and dedicated Mortgage Underwriter to join a dynamic and rapidly growing team! In this role, you will play a key part in evaluating borrower financial and credit information alongside property valuations to guide lending decisions. You will collaborate closely with the entire production team to ensure that loans are processed smoothly and efficiently, ultimately helping to bring them to successful closure.

Key Responsibilities:

Underwrite and make decisions on a variety of residential mortgage loans, including Conventional, Jumbo, FHA, and VA loans.
Verify and analyze all necessary financial documents, ensuring that loan files are complete with all required credit and legal documentation.
Review appraisal reports, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
Conduct thorough analysis of applicant income, expense data, asset documentation, credit reports, and property valuations to ensure eligibility for the loan.
Calculate qualifying ratios and determine creditworthiness, offering valuable risk assessments.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Experience underwriting VA, FHA, Conventional, and Jumbo Loans.
4+ years of underwriting experience.
Previous experience with FNMA, FHLMC, and Non-Conforming mortgages is a plus.
Familiarity with Desktop Underwriter (DU) and Loan Prospector/Loan Product Advisor (LP/LPA).
Strong understanding of the mortgage lending process.
Proficiency in carrying out essential loan calculations (DTI, LTV, etc.).
Ability to prepare detailed findings reports.
Strong multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple files simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
