Role Description

This is a Part-time role located in Manhattan, NY. The Pet Caregiver will be responsible for dog walking, pet sitting, boarding, and daycare. Daily tasks include walking dogs, feeding and providing water to pets, ensuring a safe and clean environment, administering medications, and engaging with pets in a playful and caring manner. The Pet Caregiver will also need to communicate effectively with pet owners, follow specific care instructions, and monitor the health and behavior of the pets.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe, reliable, and engaging dog walks and pet sitting services.
• Offer boarding and daycare in your own home, ensuring a safe and pet-friendly environment.
• Manage midday bookings and be available during high-demand times.
• Communicate with clients via the Waving Paws platform, including daily updates and photos.
• Maintain Waving Paws’ standard of exceptional client service and pet care.
• Ensure the safety, health, and wellbeing of all pets in your care.

Qualifications

• Must live in Manhattan.
• Prior experience in pet sitting, dog walking, or professional animal care (with references required).
• Ability to host pets in your home for boarding or daycare.
• Must work primarily from home or have the flexibility to handle midday bookings.
• Reliable smartphone with internet access for scheduling and client communication.
• Genuine love of animals, patience, and ability to handle high-energy dogs safely.
• Dependable, trustworthy, and professional demeanor.
• Prior experience in pet care or similar roles is a plus
• Ability to handle physical tasks and be on feet for long periods
• High school diploma or equivalent

Compensation

• Pay ranges from $18 to $22 per hour , based on experience and services provided.
