Responsibilities

Write, review, and approve analytical methods, protocols, procedures, reports, and Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
Conduct validation of analytical methods.
Monitor QA/QC acceptance criteria for sample results and instrument calibrations (GC-FID, GC-MS, HPLC, ICP-MS).
Maintain calibrated instrumentation for accurate results.
Lead responses to proficiency tests, audits, and certifications.
Assist in day-to-day lab operations, ensuring quality work and a positive work environment.
Make personnel decisions (hiring, evaluations, promotions, scheduling).
Ensure staff follow written policies, customer requirements, and EPA methods.
Revise SOPs and update analyses and methodologies.
Authorize Corrective Action Reports and Nonconformance Reports.

Education and Experience:

Master’s Degree in chemical or biological sciences with a minimum of 2 years of post-degree laboratory experience
Bachelor’s Degree: A bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a chemical/biological science with 4 Years of Analytical Lab Experience.
Documented experience in an analytical laboratory using and maintaining instruments such as HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, and ICP-MS.
Chemistry Background: A background in Chemistry is preferred.
Experience setting up a laboratory a must
EPA Knowledge: Proficiency in EPA requirements and regulations related to PFAS testing
