Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in excavation and site development to oversee projects from planning through completion. This role is responsible for managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and field operations to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within scope. The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact between ownership, clients, and project teams, ensuring quality standards are met and strong relationships are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and manage excavation/site development projects including earthwork, grading, utilities, and related scopes.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost controls.
• Review plans, specifications, and contracts to identify scope, risks, and resource requirements.
• Coordinate with engineers, general contractors, owners, and municipal inspectors.
• Procure materials, equipment, and subcontractors; negotiate pricing and manage contracts.
• Supervise field crews and foremen to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and to specifications.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and verify quality control.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and environmental requirements.
• Prepare and present project status reports, RFIs, change orders, and billing.
• Maintain positive client relationships and represent the company professionally at all times.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in excavation, heavy civil, or sitework construction, with at least 2 years in a project management role.
• Strong knowledge of excavation practices, site utilities, grading, and soil conditions.
• Proficiency with construction management software, scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), and MS Office.
• Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to read and interpret civil/structural drawings and specifications.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to travel to job sites as needed.
