About the Opportunity: We are currently seeking a visionary and pivotal leader to serve as Principal/Practice Leader for our S&T group across the West Coast. This unique leadership opportunity is ideal for an individual with a deep understanding of the Healthcare project sector, both public and private, and passionate about pushing the boundaries of design innovation.

This role combines strategic vision, design excellence, and business development expertise. The selected candidate will shape the future of cutting-edge facilities, mentor high-performing teams, and build strong client relationships that support long-term growth and innovation.

Locations: Los Angeles or San Francisco - Flexible

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the planning and design of advanced S&T projects that exceed client expectations and align with the highest industry standards.
• Lead business development strategies, cultivate key client relationships, and expand our influence across university and private sector projects.
• Translate complex client requirements into tailored architectural solutions that advance their S&T projects.
• Stay ahead of emerging trends and innovations in science-based design to ensure our work remains forward-thinking and competitive.
• Inspire, mentor, and develop junior staff, fostering a culture of excellence, creativity, and knowledge-sharing across project teams.

Qualifications:

• BS in Architecture or related field; Master’s degree preferred
• 10+ years of relevant architectural leadership experience
• Project Expertise: S&T (sciences, technology, mission-critical, AI, R&D, facilities, labs, etc.)
• Demonstrated success in business development and strategic planning.
• Deep knowledge of applicable building codes, standards, and regulatory frameworks.
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills with the ability to lead the studio, the S&T project sector, and multidisciplinary teams.
• An active Architectural License is required.
