Description

The Safety Coordinator provides essential administrative and operational support to the Safety Department, ensuring compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations. This position plays a key role in organizing documentation, assisting with compliance initiatives, and supporting company-wide safety programs through the use of EHS management software and Microsoft Office applications.

Essential Functions of the Position:

•Maintain accurate records and documentation related to environmental, health, and safety (EHS), including safety inspections, incident reports, employee training records, and other related activities.

•Assist in the preparation and distribution of materials, reports, and presentations.

•Collaborate with the Safety Managers to implement and enforce safety policies, procedures, and guidelines across the organization.

•Assist in conducting regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

•Coordinate safety training programs for employees and facilitate safety meetings as required.

•Compile and organize EHS data and statistics to generate reports and analyze trends.

•Assist in developing strategies to improve performance based on data analysis and feedback.

•Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding safety-related inquiries, concerns, and reporting of incidents.

•Coordinate with various departments to ensure the timely implementation of safety initiatives and the resolution of safety-related issues.

•Facilitate communication between the Managers and external stakeholders, such as regulatory agencies, vendors, and contractors.

•Participate in safety committee meetings and contribute ideas for enhancing safety protocols and practices.

•Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and emerging trends.

Skills and Knowledge:

•Proven experience in administrative support roles, preferably in a safety or environmental-related environment.

•Familiarity with safety regulations, standards, and procedures (e.g., OSHA, EPA).

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with individuals at all

levels of the organization.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with safety

management software is a plus.

• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

• Ability to diffuse and manage stressful situations.

Requirements:

• High school diploma/GED.

• Previous industry or related experience preferred.

• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to work with or without supervision.

standing or walking.

• Minimal Lifting & Carrying: Occasionally lifting light office supplies (typically under 25 pounds)

• Work Environment: Standard office setting with artificial lighting and climate control.

• Travel: Occasional travel to other company locations.
