Pay rate: $65-$80/hr.
Hybrid Role: 2x a week on site in Downtown LA.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10 -15+ years of experience in Electrical Design
- 10+ years of experience in Utilities (Oil x Gas, Power Generation, Water)
- Proficiency in AVEVA software - E3D and the Electric Module is preferred. Use these tools for modeling, designing, and documenting electrical components.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is necessary for creating detailed electrical drawings and layouts.
- Familiarity with Structured Query Language (SQL) is beneficial for managing databases related to electrical systems. Use SQL for data retrieval, analysis, and reporting.
- Able to interpret and create P&IDs to represent electrical systems, ensuring accurate communication of process requirements.
Job Description
An employer is looking for a Sr. Electrical Designer to support capital projects at an Oil & Gas customer in the Southern California area.
- Perform design and development of electrical systems for capital projects as needed.
- Work on projects from conceptualization to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into overall project designs.
- Design and configure Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for process automation and control. Collaborate with automation engineers to integrate PLCs into overall system architecture.
- Develop control schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts for electrical systems. Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry best practices.
- Understand and apply area classification principles to electrical equipment and installations.
- Stay up to date with the latest NEC requirements and incorporate them into your designs. Ensure electrical systems comply with safety codes and regulations.
- Independently create and manage cable schedules. Tag conduits accurately, ensuring efficient cable routing and organization. Develop comprehensive schedules for cable installation and maintenance.
