Operational Technical Services (OTS) is one of the fastest-growing private water and wastewater utility staffing providers in the country. We provide certified water treatment, distribution, wastewater treatment, collections, engineering, laboratory, water quality, maintenance, and training professionals to municipalities, special districts, and private utilities throughout the country. TITLE: Sr. Industrial Wastewater Operator

SALARY: $30 - $35/hr

SCHEDULE: 12-hour rotating shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. 48 hours in week one, 36 hours in week two. Overtime may be required to support production.

OVERVIEW:

We seek a skilled and dedicated Industrial Wastewater Operator to join our team in Ellabell, GA. The successful candidate will operate and maintain wastewater treatment facilities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operational Oversight: Manage and control equipment and processes that remove harmful materials and chemicals from wastewater.
• Monitoring and Reporting: Keep detailed water quality records and other key indicators. Report any operational concerns or project needs to the Site Supervisor.
• Maintenance: Operate and maintain pumps, motors, and other equipment. Perform both preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Quality Control: Take samples and conduct analytical tests to ensure water quality. Adjust chemical levels as needed.
• System Monitoring: Use computerized systems to supervise plant processes. Read instruments, meters, and gauges to ensure meticulous equipment function.
• Emergency Planning: Develop and implement emergency reaction protocols.
• Compliance Documentation: Maintain records to document compliance with all regulations.
• Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness and organization per 5S Standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Licensing: The state of Georgia-issued wastewater license is required.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years experience with the treatment of wastewater in industrial or municipal environment.
• Skills: High professionalism, ability to make informed decisions, and mechanical proficiency.
• Availability: Must be able to work independently and be available for overtime, including weekends.

Dependability: Must be reliable and punctual

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
• Ability to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods.

MUST HAVES FOR ROLE:

• Utility Pants: Employees must wear durable utility pants suitable for the work environment.
• Safety Shoes: Steel-toed or other appropriate safety shoes are mandatory to protect against workplace hazards.
• Candidates must consent to and pass a background check and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
