Position summary:

Lucent Music & Arts is seeking a dynamic and versatile vocal instructor with a strong foundation in contemporary vocal techniques. The ideal candidate is confident teaching styles such as pop (Mando pop/ K pop), R&B, and musical theatre, and can coach students in vocal technique, stage presence, and repertoire development. Applicants must have prior teaching experience with teens and adults, and the ability to engage students in group settings. Experience performing or training in contemporary styles is essential. A degree in music, musical theatre, or vocal performance is required.

Part-time | In-person (LIC – Rewind)

Salary: $65 per hour

Hours: Monday Afternoon / Weekend Mornings 

Job Duties:

Teach Vocal Technique & Performance

• Lead small group classes of 4-5 students.
• Teach proper vocal warm-ups, breath support, and stylistic interpretation.
• Assist students in preparing for recitals and showcases.

Develop Contemporary Repertoire

• Guide students in choosing appropriate repertoire across pop, R&B, and musical theatre genres.
• Encourage creativity and artistic expression.
• Provide individual feedback on vocal progress and performance.

Foster a Positive Learning Environment

• Build confidence and excitement in students.
• Promote teamwork and peer support in group settings.
• Manage small groups with energy, patience, and encouragement.

Stay Musically Current

• Stay informed on current music trends, teaching methods, and instructional materials.
• Continue personal musical development through practice and performance.

Support School Performances

• Prepare students for semester-end showcases or school events
• Rehearse performance pieces and support stage presence coaching
