Job Summary

We are looking for a talented and suitably experienced person to join us as Director of Procurement Excellence based in our Americas Headquarters in Atlanta. This pivotal role is responsible for providing strategic leadership in Source to Pay (S2P) Efficiency and Change Management ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals and driving continuous improvement within the Americas. The Director of Procurement Excellence will work with various stakeholders across the United States and Canada to implement harmonized procurement processes to enable efficiencies, effective training and company-wide process optimization and improvements. You will be tasked with establishing and maintaining relations with procurement colleagues across the region as well as deploying understanding of processes and systems within procurement operations to enable all levels of procurement to work transparently, efficiently and effectively.

Job Location

The role will report directly to the Head of Procurement for CRH Americas and dotted line to the Global Head of Procurement Excellence and will be a hybrid role in our Atlanta, GA corporate office.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development and deployment of global standards, processes & systems utilization strategies for the Americas region and in collaboration with the Group Head of Procurement Excellence
  • Collectively drives vision/strategy in four primary elements and specific annual improvement initiatives throughout the Americas in alignment with Group objectives
  • Coordinate capability building and execute all training activities across operational and strategic Procurement functions. Key focus on the CRH 5-Stage sourcing process.
  • Monitor and drive improvement across activities related to Operational Procurement and foster system and process innovation within the Americas Platforms/Divisions.
  • Drive effective coordination and support of e-Sourcing strategy and initiatives, continuously driving the utilization of existing e-sourcing tools: SAP Ariba and Coupa Sourcing Optimization (CSO) and the value to the organization
  • Maximize insights for all procurement activities by collating and analyzing information to enhance operational and strategic decision-making across and within each Platform/Division.
  • Drive a comprehensive strategy on contract management, and focused SRM, providing guidance to category teams and Platform / Divisional procurement. Driving the utilization of SAP Ariba for Contract management activities.
  • Collaboratively develop and drive agreed best practices within Procure to Pay (P2P) both in processes and utilization of existing technologies (ERP – primarily SAP, Proactis, Coupa)
  • Define and implement a Change management strategy to support the implementation of various initiatives within the Procurement function
  • Serve as the functional lead for CRH Americas Procurement Excellence while maintaining alignment with Group Procurement Excellence.
  • Business travel around 20%
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Business or Technical discipline, MBA Preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in sourcing or supply chain, gradually developed into senior leadership positions with leading demonstrable successful teams in sourcing and/or supply chain in a cross-cultural environment and matrix-based environment
  • Demonstrated experience in leading, developing and implementing procurement improvements within own department and/or in collaboration with other departments
  • Experience in procurement processes/methods/tools/systems, compliance monitoring, knowledge management and performance management in Procurement. Specific knowledge/experience in SAP Ariba, Coupa Sourcing Optimization and Coupa P2P preferred.
  • Good business, commercial and financial acumen
  • Able to build and maintain relationships, whilst operating and influencing successfully at different levels of organization, across all business functions and to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Motivates and empowers others and has excellent coaching and mentoring skills
  • Strong and effective team player – both within the Procurement function and across functions
  • Strong planning and organizing skills
  • Fluent in English
