ROLE OVERVIEW

As BK Beauty’s Graphic Designer, you’ll be instrumental in bringing our brand to life across digital channels—especially email design, product listings, and social ads. You’ll combine creativity with strong production skills to produce high-volume, on-brand visuals that meet deadlines. You’ll report directly to our Co-founder and collaborate closely with the Social, Digital, and Product teams. Over time, you’ll have the opportunity to shape design systems, refine our workflow processes, and grow into a creative leader within BK Beauty.

Note: DTC brand and consumer product experience required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Digital Asset Creation

  • Design high-quality assets for email campaigns, product listings (website & marketplaces), and social ads.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., Social, Digital, Product) to translate briefs into polished visuals that align with brand standards.

Production & Organization

  • Handle recurring “production-level” tasks (e.g., creating compelling images for product listings) with speed and attention to detail.
  • Maintain organized asset libraries, ensuring version control and easy accessibility for team members.

Brand Consistency

  • Adhere to established brand guidelines while also contributing fresh ideas that keep our look and feel cutting-edge.
  • Apply a critical eye when incorporating photography, copy, and layout elements to ensure cohesive and on-brand final designs.

Design Systems & Workflows

  • Suggest and implement workflow improvements for project management, software usage, and collaborative tools (e.g., Figma).
  • Assist in refining design systems that support fast, high-quality asset production without sacrificing creativity.

Creative Collaboration & Feedback

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Director of Social Commerce) to understand project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Confidently present work, accept feedback, and iterate quickly while maintaining a positive, solutions-focused mindset.

Growth & Development

  • Stay updated on design trends, best practices in digital marketing, and emerging tools, and current AI advancements for aiding modern design workflows.
  • Demonstrate leadership potential by taking initiative on special projects and showcasing a willingness to step outside your comfort zone.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Mid-Level Experience: 3–5+ years of hands-on graphic design, particularly in digital marketing or ecommerce settings.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and Figma; bonus for familiarity with email marketing platforms or marketplace listing tools.
  • Digital-First Mindset: Strong portfolio showcasing email design, social ads, web layouts, and knowledge of design specs for online platforms.
  • Production Savvy: Comfortable handling high-volume asset production with meticulous attention to file formatting, resolution, and versioning.
  • Creative Eye: Adept at selecting and manipulating photography, typography, and layout elements to tell a compelling brand story.
  • Organization & Systems: Knowledge of best practices for file organization, naming conventions, and streamlined design workflows aided by modern AI tools.
  • Communication & Feedback: Able to clearly articulate design decisions and gracefully integrate feedback from both creative and non-creative stakeholders.
  • Growth Potential: Interested in expanding your skill set and possibly growing into an Art Director or Brand/Creative Director role over time.
