HIRING Chemistry Lab Tech! Medix Life Sciences is the fastest growing staffing organization specializing in Clinical Research and Life Sciences placements for all the major health systems and research organizations throughout the country. Medix is looking for a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and 1+ years of lab experience.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, preferably with experience in peptide synthesis (1-3 years)
• Proficiency in the use of HPLC for purification and analytical purposes is highly desired
• Previous experience with defiltration and/or Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) techniques is a plus
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites Products and chemical drawing programs

Position Summary: Location: Plano, TX 75074 Pay: 21-23/hr depending on experience Hours: M-F 8am-4:30pm Duration: 6 month contract to hire

Position Description:

• Manual and automated solid-phase synthesis, purification, and characterization of peptides
• Synthesis of small to intermediate-size molecules using common organic synthesis techniques
• Use HPLC, LC/MS for peptide characterization and purification workflow
• Plan, execute, and document work under the guidance of a supervisor
• Organizes time to meet project timelines
• Ability to understand deadlines and commitments/ can effectively manage time in the lab
• Organized individual who can carry out tasks from start to end with little supervision, once properly trained on the task at hand
• Can communicate clearly in written and verbal forms
• Research literature to help solve problems associated with current and future projects
