Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Certified Teacher to join our team at Chatter & Chalk Academy in Morgantown, WV. As a Certified Teacher, you will play a key role in creating and implementing engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons for children ages 3-5, fostering academic, social, and emotional growth. You will collaborate with fellow educators and support staff to ensure each child's individual needs are met, while providing a nurturing and enriching environment. Ideal candidates will have a current West Virginia teaching certification, a love for early childhood education, and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.

Qualifications:

• Hold teacher certification in the state of WV or be eligible for teacher certification in WV
• 2 years experience working with early or elementary education 
• Positive oral and written communication skills
• Reflective leadership qualities

Responsibilities:

• Adheres to the Chatter & Chalk Academy Employee Handbook and the Employee Code of Conduct
• Ensures appropriate supervision of students
• Implements curriculum through weekly lesson plans and collaboration with C&C team
• Fosters a classroom climate that ensures wellness, safety, and fun 
• Utilizes instructional management that increases student learning during lessons, play, breaks, meals, and transitions
• Monitors student progress towards mastery of instructional goals and objectives 
• Communicates effectively with team and with parents on a regular basis
• Leads assistant teachers and volunteers in the classroom to be sure they are following health and safety standards/policies
• Complete professional development required for position and professional lice
