Yoga Instructor – Therapeutic + Integrative Care Focus

Brain and Body Recess | South Seattle

Compensation: $50-100 hour + perks (negotiable based on experience)

Part-time with room to grow | W-2 or 1099 considered

Brain and Body Recess is more than a wellness studio — we are a movement space for nervous system repair, generational healing, and community care. We center the bodies, breath, and brilliance of our communities while providing access to whole-person wellness. Our offerings include bodywork, chiropractic care, breath work, and therapeutic yoga — rooted in both subtle practices and clinical research.

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking a Yoga Instructor with a passion for Yoga Therapy and integrative healing to join our growing team. You’re not just here to lead classes — you’re here to co-create a culture of care. You’re someone who moves with purpose, teaches from lived experience, and understands yoga as both a physical and psycho-spiritual tool for transformation.

This role is ideal for someone who:

• Is trained in or currently studying Vinyasa, Hatha, Ashtanga, Yoga Therapy or trauma-informed yoga
• Has a minimum of 3 years teaching experience in studio, clinical, or community spaces
• Sees yoga as a gateway to nervous system regulation, pain recovery, and emotional processing
• Is excited to work alongside massage therapists, chiropractors, mental health practitioners, and educators
• Is curious about research, measurement, and culturally-responsive wellness practices
• Believes wellness must be equitable, anti-oppressive, and restorative

Core Responsibilities

• Facilitate 2–4 weekly group classes and/or private sessions with therapeutic intention
• Collaborate with our bodywork team to develop integrative care plans
• Offer modifications, hands-on assists (with consent), and accessible cues across ability levels
• Attend monthly wellness team check-ins and contribute to program development
• Support in developing yoga protocols for stress recovery, chronic illness, and mental health support
• Contribute to workshops, events, or seasonal healing circles aligned with your specialty

Our Ideal Instructor Has

• Certification from a 200- or 500-hour RYT program
• Specialized training in Mediation and Yoga Therapy (C-IAYT or in progress preferred)
• Deep understanding of somatics, breathwork, and trauma-sensitive approaches
• Experience working with BIPOC communities and a passion for wellness justice
• Availability for evenings/weekends or consistent daytime offerings
• Interest in long-term collaboration, mentorship, and professional development
